We offer safe and productive tuition in which students can learn and experiment, enhance and enjoy reaching their full potential. The skills and psychology that is learned whilst training can greatly nourish a disabled person’s life in many ways enabling them to display their abilities and not be held back by their disabilities. It is about personal development as well as being able to understand about their own self-protection.

Karate has been scientifically proven to create new neural-pathways in the brain making it a brilliant tool for people with physical or learning disabilities.
It helps develop and maintain coordination, focus and concentration as well as developing better physical functionality. Students learn to encourage and support each other.
“John and Elaine Johnston have been instructing our service users at Golding@Medway in Bakewell – a day service for adults with learning disabilities in adaptive karate for six months and we have all noticed a marked difference in their fitness levels and ability to focus. As a discipline, it has helped the group grow in confidence and improved their self-esteem.
One of our service users was lucky enough to be invited along to the International Karate Championships in Spain late last year and enjoyed every minute of his trip as well as winning a medal.
We are all extremely grateful for the opportunities John and Elaine have presented us”.
